Absolute zero is -273.15 degrees C, -459.67 degrees F, and 0 K. It is the theoretical lowest possible temperature where all molecular motion ceases.

The US adopted the Fahrenheit scale in the 18th century and it became entrenched in daily use. Most other countries switched to Celsius as part of metrication in the 1960s-70s.
